Statement of Significance

This stand of 40 is of a species that has a restricted occurrence in Victoria, being confined to three known populations at Little River Gorge, Stradbroke Chasm and Milky Creek Track near World End Spur; Black Mountain S-W of Suggan Buggan and on Mount Wheeler. A mallee tree, the species is rare in Australia and is notable for its multi-stemmed habit, smooth salmon-pink bark and glaucous young leaves. The small angular fruits are also of interest.
