Statement of Significance

This avenue planting (129 trees) extends some 244m. and is perhaps the best known private avenue in Victoria. The trees with their striking white trunks are of outstanding landscape significance and were planted by Dame Elisabeth Murdoch circa 1930 from a plan prepared by Edna Walling in 1929.
