Statement of Significance
An outstanding example of a species very rare in cultivation in Victoria. Other specimens are reported from Dunkeld and Geelong Grammar School and a recent planting occurs in the Royal Botanic gardens near the Temple of the Winds. The tree was planted by Margaret Winter-Cooke on 24 May 1916 and a small copper plaque is attached to the tree to this effect. It is known as the Gallipoli Oak and is in good condition with a very dense crown
