Statement of Significance
These figs make a significant contribution to the landscape of this historic coastal town and provide an important landmark in this tourist centre. It has contemporary association with the community who values its aesthetic contribution and their place in the township's history. They are attractive trees, the eastern one exhibiting a curious windswept growth characteristic after providing weather protection for its companion tree.
History
These two beautiful shade trees, formed an aesthetic landmark and provided shade and a social focus outside the old post office in a central tourist location of Yeppoon's old town centre. It is now longer part of the main CBD and the adjacent building which was the former post office is now a private art gallery and gift shop.
Location
The trees are on the northeast corner of the Mary Street and Normanby Street intersection.
