This tree is significant due to its historic, social and aesthetic values. This Boab marks the site of Darwins first primary school, and later the Darwin High School and the Adult Education Centre. This Boab was planted in the late 1800s and is a fine example of its species. During WWII a "Daisy Cutter" bomb lay unexploded within its shade for several days prior to discovery.
